Bridge of the Harmony Ponte della Concordia

The Bridge of the Harmony-Concordia is an ancient bridge, is in Fossombrone in the Marche Region and crosses the river Metauro.
The name “Harmony – Concordia” was decided by the citizens of Fossombrone, a small town of about 10,000 inhabitants.
“Concordia – Harmony” comes from the Latin cum and cor, cordis, “which has the heart in common” meaning “from united hearts.”
The bridge has a single arch, called a tutto sesto (or semicircular), that reflects itself in the river forming the optical illusion of a circle. This particular structure was inherited by the Romans and the Etruscans.

Ponte della Concordia

Il Ponte della Concordia è un antico ponte, si trova a Fossombrone nella Regione delle Marche e attraversa il fiume Metauro.
Il nome “della Concordia” è stato deciso dai cittadini di Fossombrone, una piccola cittadina di circa 10.000 abitanti.
“Concordia” viene dal latino cum e cor, cordis, “che ha il cuore in comune” cioè “dai cuori uniti”.
Il Ponte ha un solo arco chiamato a tutto sesto (o semicircolare), che si riflette nel fiume formando l’illusione ottica di un cerchio. Questa struttura particolare è stata eredita dai romani e dagli etruschi.
