Umbria is a Central Region, not touched by the sea and bordering only with the Italian regions.
Its name comes from an ancient population, the Umbrians. Etruscan, Roman, Gothic and Byzantine civilization left evident traces in architecture.
In the Middle Age and the Renaissance, many artists went to work in Umbria creating marvelous works, among these the frescoes by Giotto, Cimabue, Lorenzetti.
The agronomic aspect in Umbria has been developed in the cultivation of olive trees and wine and the presence of woods with alkaline soil allows the growth of one of the tastiest and most expensive mushrooms, the truffles.
Every year in July a major Festival is organized in Umbria, Umbria Jazz.
Umbria Cerreto di Spoleto owes its name to a kind of oaks trees (cerri) forests.

L’Umbria è una regione centrale, non bagnata dal mare e confinante solo con le regioni italiane.
Il suo nome Umbria proviene da una antica popolazione, gli Umbri. La civiltà Etrusca, Romana, Gotica e Bizantina hanno lasciato tracce evidenti nell’architettura.
Nel Medioevo e Rinascimento molti artisti andarono a lavorare in Umbria creando opere straordinarie, tra queste gli affreschi di Giotto, Cimabue, Lorenzetti.
L’aspetto agronomico in Umbria è sviluppato nella coltivazione degli ulivi e del vino e la presenza di boschi con terreno alcalino permette la crescita di uno dei più gustosi e costosi funghi, il tartufo.
Tutti gli anni, di solito a luglio in Umbria viene organizzato un importante Festival, Umbria Jazz.
