The Piedmont is actually at the foot of the mountains: the Alps, to the West on the border with France, in the North on the border with Switzerland, and the Apennines to the South on the border with Liguria, another Italian region.
Piedmont was inhabited by the Celtic-Ligurians people, the Romans who founded Turin, and saw the civilizations of Franks, Byzantines, and Goths.
These various civilizations are always present in the languages of the population of Piedmont with Occitan, French, Waser, inherited from a population of German origin.
The valleys with the presence of the rivers enable a thriving agriculture and on the hills the vineyards produce the wine that is exported all over the world.
